Daveyton is probably the most unsung Township in the Eastrand (Ekurhuleni), A township that has given birth to game changers in music, politics and sports, namely Lira, Lebo Mathosa, Jabu Pule and lots more. “This township is affectionately known as Vutha (sometimes spelled Vutta) or Tuka due it being the first black township to have access to electricity.”
What’s more electrifying is that this township is rewriting its own narrative within business and the arts, interesting events are sprouting around the neighbourhood , giving the youth various options of things to do. So whether you are a local or you are looking for a different crowd or vibe to check out, here are a few events that will spark your interest.

Is a series of events that celebrate women that practice the different mediums of art.
These phenomenal women, inspire the next generation of women creators.
On the 27 August 2017, His and Hers Jams together with Don’t trip sessions will host the second ” Women and art” edition, in the East Rand, Daveyton.
The event will start 12 midday till midnight. With carefully selected music by the selectors of the day. Visitors will enjoy live mural painting by exhibiting artists, fashion, and delightful meals on offer on the day, later in the evening be astonished by a musical performance.
We hope this event will encourage more young women to engage more in the creative arts.
